These are the most Frequently asked Questions of Maven Marketing. They should address most of your questions. Please read these before contacting us.


Q. We are specifically targeting businesses with our marketing campaign. We require contact details for the following types of businesses in Australia:

Real Estates
Business Brokers
Accounting Firms
Conveyancing Businesses
Construction Industry – builders, developers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians etc.

Can you provide lists for these types of businesses?

A. The List of Businesses in Australia has a huge range of business categories, which is far better value if you need to contact several business categories, Here is a sample which has one contact for each of the business categories in Australia. It has all of those categories you need.

Q. How up to date are your lists?

A. This is our most up to date list, our data is edited as there are changes, we don’t delete the entire database and start again as it is not necessary. It is based on the accuracy of public records like phone and web directories, so if the source of the data is up to date, so is ours. 

Q. Can you provide email addresses and mobile numbers for these types of businesses? And can I specify this when buying the contact?

A. Around 5% of these have email addresses, they do include phone numbers and postal addresses. It is an inexpensive way to start building your own database of contacts. They usually have one main phone number, either landline or mobile, whichever is most prominent.

Q. What is the cost per list or database?

A. The price is specified on each lists page, please go there and you will get all of the details.

Q. Will I get unlimited use of the contact database?

A. This is an Excel file you download, you can use it as many times as you like and, delete and edit it as you wish once you purchase. The total cost is on the website, and the current count of contacts. 

Q. Can you give me a call? / What is your phone number?

A. We prefer to correspond via email for legal reasons. What would you like to know? Here is our email contact form

Q. I really only need the information for Brisbane, as the business I am in only offers services in the Brisbane area.

We are promoting it to businesses such as real estate, car sales, finance brokers, financial planners and IT Software companies.

So, would you consider offering a subset of each list at a reduced price?

A. We do not break down our lists unfortunately. The reason being is that our prices are really competitive compared to others because we have standard data sets for the different industries.

For us to go in and process a customised order, filter the results and process the payment would take more time than our set, automatic system. So we would have to charge more.
You will probably find that if someone does a customised set of results for you, they will probably cost far more than our complete lists for Australia. You can easily filter out the results yourself by postcode, business name, suburb or state to get only the desired contacts.

Q. How long until I receive my goods? It's not noted when purchased.

A. As soon as your payment has been processed, you should return to our website, where you can download it. If for some reason, it does not go back to our site. Go to https://mavenmarketing.com.au/account.php and use the email you placed the order with and Reset your password. An account was automatically set up for you, where you can login and download your Business List. We also send an email, wich is a Tax Invoice and has the download link in it as well. If you have not received this email within 30 minutes, please check your junk folder.

Q. My file download link has expired?

A. Please use our contact form and email your order number. If you do not know that, your email address and the name you purchased it under.

Q. I’m interesting in running a direct marketing campaign across Australia targeting hotels, restaurants and cafes. Is this something you can facilitate? It’d be great if someone from your team could call me to talk in a bit of detail.

A. We just provide the data. We do not run the campaigns ourselves, we leave that up to you. I can give you a bit of advise from my experience though. I have found that telemarketing, giving a one line introduction on what your company does and asking for the managers name, their email and permission to send them some info works really well. You can then send follow up emails regularly with more info, promotions and specials.

Q. Do I get free updates when I purchase your lists?

A. As for updates, if you need updated versions, you will have to buy again. However you don’t see too much major changes until around every 12 months, just a few records here and there. You should find however that our prices are extremely competitive when compared to other providers who do this.

Q. Could you please advise how many records in NSW and how many records in Australia with employee estimates and how many records in Australia with turnover estimates.

A. We do not have many at all with Employee estimate or turnover sorry.

Q. Does the List of Businesses in Australia cover all of your other categories?

A. Yes it does, it covers all of our other categories.

Q. How do your lists deal with chains of stores under the same name, for example, Coles or Woolworth?

A. In most cases, each individual store location is listed with its address and phone number.

Q. Do you have email addresses? We do our marketing via email?

A. We are restricted on selling emails by the Anti Spam laws in Australia. We can provide a sample script for telemarketing to gather email addresses. This works really well as it breaks the ice with the clients. Many of our clients have had great success with this. Just email and ask for a copy of our Telemarketing Script.

Q. Hi - we purchased some data from you over a week ago . We are yet to receive. can you confirm receipt of payment and next steps?

A. It took a few days for your payment to clear. Which was stated in Paypal when you purchased. Once it clears, you should have got an email with a link to download it. Please check your Junk Email, then let me know if you have not received it and I can resend the email with download link.

Q. Could I have a Sample of a particular product?

A. Yes you can, please e-mail us through our contact form or the e-mail link on the product page and let us know which product you would like a sample for? We do only provide a small snapshot of random contacts from each list. We will not provide specific samples for certain areas.

Q. How were the lists gathered - could we legally load up these lists into something like Aweber and send an email blast? Just wondering what exactly we can and can't do with one of these lists and how people got on the lists.

A. This is our most up to date list, our data is edited as there are changes, we don’t delete the entire database and start again as it is not necessary. It is based on the accuracy of public records like phone and web directories, so if the source of the data is up to date, so is ours. 

Aweber won’t let you upload the list. Most others will not either, as they will specify you can not use bought lists.

For yourself, I see you do SEO. What I think would work really well is to get the list. Sort all the industries that you like to target or your theme of your link network might suit. Then put someone on part time to call them, introduce your company briefly, then ask for the managers name and email address. Then ask if you could email some information through on your services. That way you have made a friendly first contact and you will stand out from all of the spammers once you do this and a lot more emails will get through.

You should get through around 20-30 phone calls an hour if you use a nice short script and anyone half decent on the phone should be getting at least 70% of these to give out their details. A good caller will get nearly 100% of calls email details. Hope this helps to work out your cost per lead. 


Q. I just purchased what I thought was a list of all schools in Australia but I received a download for suppliers to schools.

Could you please send the download of all schools please?

A. Thanks for your purchase, you should find that this is the correct list. You may have just seen that at the very top of the list. Please scroll down and you will see all of the schools as well. We have included Suppliers and some related industries as these can be of benefit to other suppliers to schools.

Q. We are looking into purchasing a contact list of Australian Lawyers for an electronic mail campaign. 
As such we will need to ascertain assurance that the contacts on the list have provided consent to recieving electronic marketing communications. 

So that we consider Maven Marketing lists, can you please confirm the following:
1, How did subscribers opt in to the list?
2, What exactly did the subscribers agree to when optin in to the list?
3, When did the subscribers provide consent to be on the list?

A. It is sourced from public records like phone and web directories, so if the source of the data is up to date, so is ours. They people had their emails publicly displayed. Q. I wish to buy nsw real estate agents.I wish to use the excel spreadsheet with a marketing campaign.The printers will be printing directly onto the envelopes .So the question is , can I send the excel spreadsheet onto the printer to use ? 

A. Yes it can be sent to the printers and yes the excel sheet can be used for a mail merge to print onto envelopes to real estate agents.

Q. Do we have to pay for business name that already exist in our database, don’t you offer any dedupe?

A. We don’t dedupe, and yes you pay for the database as is, regardless of whether you have the contacts in your database or not.
